What is LibZig?
LibZig is a quick and easy way to keep track of your home library. Simply sign up for FREE, go to the
Add Book page, and type in the ISBN number of the book. We'll show you Amazon's details for the book, and you can then add it to your library.
That's all there is to it.
What else is there?
When you view your library, we'll show you 10 products that are similar to the books on that page of your library. When you view the details of a book, we'll show you
10 that are similar to that book. It's a great way to find new books to read!
What does it cost?
NOTHING. $0.00. Zilch. Nada There is no cost to use LibZig. However, you'll most likely end up spending money at Amazon.com. You're going to find a lot of great books that you'll want to read.
What's a LibZig?
We have no idea. But it sounded fun. Do you know how hard it is to find a decent domain these days?
What now?
Sign up or sign in. It's easy to do. Just pick a name for your library, choose an email address and password, and you're in. Find the ISBN number on your book, and type it in. Now click "Look".
The program will retrieve the book details from Amazon. If it's the right book, click yes. If not, click no and try again. It's that easy.
Really, what else is there?
Today, not much. But tomorrow, maybe some more. This site was a lightbulb going off on 2.11.2008. We had just built new bookcases for our library and wanted to catalog the books in it.
There was an idea on how to get details for the books easily. So, a few hours later, we were able to enter books into the system. It took us under 2 hours to enter 410 books. Not too bad!
So, this is just the first run. There's lots more we want to add, and will do so as we use it and demand for it grows. That includes:
- Edit Books
- Manual Book Entry
- Edit Library Details
- Report Library Details
- Know who's borrowed your books (our friends always have ours)
- Retrieve your password if it's forgotten
- Cookie based login
- View other peoples libraries

When you enter it, take out the dash, like this: 9780345422477

Where is the ISBN number?
Typically it's on the back of the book, or on the spine. Usually it's by the barcode. If you'd like to learn more than you need to about the ISBN, go to
wikipedia.
